Before that, I was so burnt out as a photographer that I thought I would never want to do it again. I even tried to sell some of my photo gear, but those who know me probably guess that all the cameras, lenses, flashes, and other little things, even the crappiest UV filter, are still with me. And by the way, I'm quite glad about that now, even though I would prefer to replace some things. However, that's a whole different story, and today I'll talk about the first shoot in many months.
So, after struggling for a few weeks to formulate a message to any of the models, I finally wrote to Ilze. We've known each other for several years, and she has modeled for me before, so it wasn't that difficult, even though it took a while to meet up - as always, life, weather, illnesses, and other things happen. And so, after wiping up my nose and stuffing new prisms into my bag, I set out to shoot. Finally! Let's see what came out...
By the way, these are frames from the first twenty shots taken. It was a shock for me because until the moment I downloaded the photos to my computer, I hadn't really looked at them - due to the cold, I was completely distracted, so I didn't really know what we were getting as we went along, and my lack of self-confidence convinced me that it would probably turn out to be some nonsense, even though everything looked beautiful in person. Well... you know - it's quite hard to ruin a beautiful model. Although, it depends on the person, of course. I find it difficult.
And here, I even took a few shots where it's not just the face! One of my goals was to work with colors and the combination of the puffer jacket and shades of red in the city. I managed to achieve that a little, as you can see.
And finally, here are a couple more shots with effects for variety. In the future, I plan to do more of these. When my fingers aren't freezing so much.
